Thank you very much for looking at my painting. I’m a Japanese artist living in the UK. I create illustrations using a variety of ink and watercolour on finest quality paper.

This is a limited print of my original work
‘Japanese Kimono Girl with a Temari’.
This piece depicts a Japanese girl wearing a beautiful black silk kimono (furisode) for Coming of Age Day in January.  A silk embroidered temari ball is next to the girl’s foot.
Coming of Age Day celebrates the beginning of adulthood in Japan (turning 20 years of age).  Furisode is a long-sleeved kimono worn by unmarried women in Japan.
*Frame is not included.
It’s printed on 5×7″ premium glossy photo paper and protected in a clear plastic sleeve.(Signed and numbered on the back.)

New! Japanese Ink & Watercolour Painting ‘Old Eatery in Tokyo’ 5×7″ Print

I finished the teishoku-ya painting I wrote about in my last post, and now the print is available at Japan Corner!

LINK: Old Eatery in Tokyo 5×7″ print

It depicts a local teishoku-ya called Okachimachi Shokudo.  Teishoku-ya is a restaurant which serves teishoku (set menus), and this old teishoku-ya is famous for serving a big portion of food.

As you can see in this painting, most restaurants in Japan display plastic food models by the entrance so the customers can see what they serve before entering the restaurant.

It’s printed on 5×7″ premium glossy photo paper and protected in a clear plastic sleeve. Signed and numbered on the back. I will ship this item in a hardback envelope by Royal Mail First Class (Royal Mail Airmail for outside the UK).

This intricate piece will give a hint of Japan to your room!

*Frame is not included.

Thanks for reading!

Ink & watercolour painting (illustration) of a Japanese teishoku-ya

This is the new painting I’ve been working on↓.  I haven’t finished it yet.

This is a local teishoku-ya called Okachimachi Shokudo.  Teishoku-ya is a restaurant which serves teishoku (set menus), and this old teishoku-ya is famous for serving a big portion of food.  It’s only a minute away from Okachimachi station in Tokyo, and it’s right under the railroad!

I really want to finish painting it, but I haven’t got much time as I’ve been quite busy for my shop..!  I hope I can finish it and put it up in my shop (and this blog) very soon!!
